Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange FTX, provided further testimony in a Manhattan federal court on Friday. During his testimony, Bankman-Fried addressed claims made by former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison regarding his unconventional appearance. Ellison suggested that his messy hair and casual attire were intentional, designed to improve his public image. However, Bankman-Fried refuted this notion, explaining that his choices were simply a reflection of his personal style, unrelated to any strategic motives.
In response to the accusation, Bankman-Fried humorously stated that he did not aspire to be recognized as the “Kansas City Royals of Crypto Exchanges.” This comment further emphasized his assertion that his appearance was not an intentional ploy.
